The magazines were much more intelligent, the articles more in depth, the language more sophisticated. I was shocked, and so disappointed in having to live in a "dumbed down" version of America.Real History Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14097712043872228470noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8450259.post-13751489367380350012007-11-28T07:09:00.000-08:002007-11-28T07:09:00.000-08:00I'm sure I make up for several of them.I'm sure I make up for several of them.suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17087761009975204727noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8450259.post-42185516317192146502007-11-22T20:20:00.000-08:002007-11-22T20:20:00.000-08:00I read that study too. But look at what we writers have to compete with: The internet, cell phones, all kinds of video game systems, television and movies.
However, I'm still optimistic enough that there will still be enough people reading. Of course, it would be good to encourage more of the younger generation to pick up books as well.
And Harry Potter did really help that trend. Hopefully, there will be more books that continue to do this.Bobby Mangahashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10335616508441176887noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8450259.post-36589607132239189572007-11-22T20:17:00.000-08:002007-11-22T20:17:00.000-08:00This comment has been removed by the author.Bobby Mangahashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10335616508441176887noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8450259.post-85300842608945699342007-11-20T12:37:00.000-08:002007-11-20T12:37:00.000-08:00Hello, I read the report this morning on reading...Hello,
I read the report this morning on reading. It is very distressing to me, because I have a really big interest in the subject. My bread and butter like so many people's is in books. I am a librarian. It is even worse for teenagers.Book Calendarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12549140171632794868noreply@blogger.com
