I recall King's word...A very good piece, Gregg. I recall King's words from way back--and the Homes quote is spot on. This keeps coming up, usually on the heels of the tragic events you cite. I believe it's easier to blame the media, novelists, and the like because it takes no real effort. Certainly, it's relatively simple to scapegoat than really analyzing/understand the patterns or the underlying causes of individual/group violence that continues to haunt our society.
